One book July 2019 – week 2&3 in review

Because a friend came to visit me and then we went on a trip to London together, I wasn’t able to do a weekly review or blog at the end of week 2.

After the first week of BJ I realised that I needed to refine my key in connection to types of notes that I was taking, and this is working well now. I still need to get used to it but it is now much easier to look back and know what is a normal note (.), a journal entry (<3), or an idea (!).

I added a flip out journaling card for reoccurring tasks/habits but I didn’t really use it. Perhaps next week will be better. I also started using a sticky note to move from day to day with to-do’s that I want to tackle during the week. I really love this, it works, and I will continue to do this.

I’m still using my pilot capless fountain pen with black ink. Sometimes I find it a little bit too intense, but otherwise I do love using this fountain pen. However, when I’m brainstorming ideas or working out stuff (project, budget calculations) I use a pencil so that I can erase mistakes if needed.

Something else that I wanted to do is use more stickers, or I should rather say, use up my stickers. I’m just not able to do that during the day to day usage of the notebook. But what I have done is at the end of the week when I do a weekly review, I add stickers to the pages I’ve reviewed for tasks. I try to match the stickers to whatever occurred on that day, but it’s not always possible. Sometimes I just put something that will fit in the empty space or what I find pretty. I can live with that.

My routines and habit tracking didn’t go well the past two weeks due to illness and then the trip. Hopefully I will be able to get back on track with my projects and goals for the last week of July.

‘Till next time,

P
