Reasons to get a Filofax

Continuing on with what I started last week, I will now list a few reasons why one would choose a Filofax planner over another brand.

Established brand – Filofax is a widely known brand. So well known, that some people use the word “filofax” as a generic term for a 6 ring binder (not all planners are Filofaxes people!). Because it is so well known, there is a lot of information and helpful sources out there for you when trying to make a decision on which planner you would like to purchase. On top of that, since it is a well known brand, buying and selling second hand items is also possible.

A huge selection of models over the years – Because Filofax has been around for a while, they have made a wide variety of models. There are just so many to choose from, including vintage and discontinued models. You just have to do a bit of google searching and you will come up with tons pictures to feast your eyes on. Of course, some of the vintage or discontinued models you will have to buy on sites such as ebay, or facebook groups.

Vintage models – As already said, Filofax has been around for a long time. This means that they have some vintage models which are really well made (they were still made in England back then), and durable. Some of these models are highly sought after, and can last a lifetime. If you’re looking for great, old school quality, you can definitely look out for their vintage models.

Wide price range  – You are able to find a planner at pretty much any price point. If you are just starting out and don’t want to spend too much, Filofax has some, what I like to call, entry models, which are cheaper than the full leather/luxury models. Sometimes you are also able to find great deals on normally expensive planners if you shop around.

Vegan friendly option – Not all their planners are made out of leather. Some are made from PVU or canvas. This not only makes them cheaper, but also vegan friendly if that is one of your concerns.
