This past week was the first week that I was in the Aston pocket size Filofax.
I had thought that the pen loop and strap being there would get in the way and quickly become annoying. However, this hasn’t seemed to be the case! Getting money and coins in and out of that pocket has been quite easy. So I’m back to using my filofax as a wallet + planner 🙂
Another change is that I now have only 5 sections instead of 6.
I got rid of my dedicated “to-do section”. I found that I wasn’t using it, especially since I now am using the clear divider tab with post it notes in between my week pages to hold my undated to-do’s (see last weeks post to know what I’m talking about). Although, perhaps I may start to really need it as my final exam is coming up! I may also just get rid of the “information” section as I haven’t actually got any of the stuff in there that I normally would have in my personal size. It may be a mixture of me being to lazy to transfer the information, and also not having to need that information as much as I thought. The dates of the school calendar has been transferred to my normal monthly section which has solved that problem. I have an app for the public transport times so I also don’t really need the paper with the times that the tram leaves from my usual stop.
I like having the A-Z tabs for a notes section. This is something that is new to me and I never had this with my personal sized Filofax. Now I can write notes and if I want to keep them, I just file them away and it’s easy for me to find them again. This week I was writing down a list of foods to eat to help with stomach acid. It’s nice to be able to keep it in my filo and find it easily incase I’m shopping and need reminding of the types of foods I should go for, and what to avoid. I think I will make a similar list for healthy snacks! If I go back into the personal size, I will definitely be incorporating this in my system.
In conclusion, I think I can say that I am getting used to the pocket size. I’m making it work. I still long for the personal size though, but that’s only because I have so many of them. I added two to my collection this week (Regency and Kikki K medium mint) and I really want to try them out! :). But it’s nice to know that if i really need to save space in my bag or something, then I can use a pocket size without too much trouble.
For next week, I think I will get rid of the “information” section all together, and try to make a “project” section to help me with planning out my up coming exams and concerts.
Next week is the last full week of this challenge. I’m hoping that by the end of it, I would have found the best set up for myself in pocket size.
‘Till next time,
